Blackstock's Collections contains over 100 examples of works by this unique artist, inviting the reader inside the mind of a man making sense of life through art.
Seattle artist Gregory Blackstock creates visual lists of everything from art supplies to types of birds to emergency vehicles to wasps. Without formal artistic training, his works show subtle differences and similarities, enhancing the distinctive differences between types of crows, fish, trees and even noisemakers. A retired pot washer who lives with autism, he is often referred to as an artistic savant. Blackstock uses pencils, black or multicolored markers and crayons to create orderly and artistic visual lists.
