Japanese Woodblock Prints 2021 Engagement Calendar
Artwork by Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige, among others, chronicles the changing seasons, traditional observances of holidays and festivals, and people’s workaday lives. This selection of ukiyo-e “pictures of the floating world” features world-renowned works such as Under the Great Wave off Kanagawa, as well as understated images of cranes by the water’s edge and a golden pheasant in the snow. The thirty-two prints in this engagement calendar span more than one hundred years of Japanese printmaking. All are in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. 120 pages with Wire-O binding and a soft cover with flaps.
