Blackstock's Vegetables Boxed Notes
Twenty assorted 5 x 7 in. blank notecards (5 each of 4 designs) with envelopes in a decorative box
Seattle artist Gregory Blackstock (American, born 1946) creates visual lists of everything from art supplies to types of birds, to emergency vehicles, to types of wasps. Blackstock uses pencils, black or multicolored markers and crayons to create orderly and artistic visual lists. The ultimate organizer, he documents what he sees in precise images and words that fill the page. His subjects include birds, buildings, burros, accordions, artichokes, automobiles, carrots, cauliflowers, cougars—and so much more. Once he chooses a subject, he seeks to record all the variations within that group to make the artwork “complete.”
