SAM Crow Screen Porcelain Mug
SAM Exclusive porcelain mug featuring Crow Screen (Japanese, early 17th century).
A pair of six panel screens, the Crow Screens have been one of the most iconic works in the museum’s collection. These screens present a striking image of ninety black crows against a gold background. Authorship of the screen remains a mystery because of the absence of a signature, but the artist has observed the bird carefully and masterfully rendered its motions and poses.
Image of the screen is beautifully reproduced on a 14 oz porcelain mug. Comes nested in a custom box with matching image.
