SAM Plush Camel

Seattle designer Fin’es Scott of Chebeto, created the design for this charming plush toy, inspired by the Chinese camels in SAM’s Asian art collection. Since 1933, the camels have been a favorite with visitors.  This exclusive design for SAM was produced by Seattle design company Throwboy, making it a true local collaboration.

The original camel sculptures are installed downtown at the Seattle Art Museum where they can be protected and preserved. Replicas sit in front of the Asian Art Museum where the sculptures were originally installed, so that visitors can continue the tradition of sitting and posing with the iconic camels.
