How can I receive SAM Member Appreciation Days DOUBLE DISCOUNTS when I shop through your online shop?

During Member Appreciation Days, your 20% discount will be applied during checkout with a special code (valid only for certain date ranges)

Enter your Member ID Number in the indicated field in the CART, then enter the MAD Discount Code: DOUBLE when you get to CHECKOUT.

SAM Members enjoy special MAD Double Discounts in-store and online up to three times per year (look for these special weekends in May-June and September), including during Member's Appreciation Week in December— check back for double-discount dates throughout the year! 

I'm a new SAM Member and I do not have my Membership ID Number yet.  Can I still get my SAM Member discount when I shop through your online shop?
Yes, you can still receive your discount without your Membership ID Number.

Instead of entering your Member ID Number in the indicated field in the CART, simply type in the word NEWMEM and then enter the Discount Code: SHOP4MEMS when you get to CHECKOUT.



Do you ship internationally?
SAM Shop Online is currently only shipping within the continental United States (also Alaska and Hawaii).


When can I expect to receive my order?
Orders from SAM Shop online should arrive within 8-10 business days.

How do I track my order?

What is your return policy?
Items are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt of goods, providing they are in saleable condition.  Return postage will be paid by the customer, unless the return is due to defect of merchandise.  Please see your emails from SAM Shop Online for further instructions on how to complete a return that needs to be shipped back to the SAM Shop Shipping Department.


Can I return an item purchased online at one of your shop locations?
Items purchased from SAM Shop Online can be returned to our SAM Shop location at Seattle Art Museum. To process your return, please bring with you the receipt and paperwork for the item/items being returned and your credit card used for the original purchase. 

Do you sell Gift Certificates? 
SAM Shop only sells Gift Certificates in-store at our SAM Shop locations and are only redeemable for purchases in SAM Shop or for phone orders at this time.

How is Sales Tax calculated for orders?
Because SAM Shop is only located in the state of Washington, the sales tax will be applied to all orders within our state.

For orders shipping out of state, no sales tax will be applied.

Do you have a larger selection of items in-store?
Yes, our online selection is only a sampling of our broad range of products. In our SAM Shop location at the Seattle Art Museum, you’ll find more locally made jewelry and crafts, textiles, contemporary design, books, children’s items and much more!


Do you sell posters/prints of artwork on view at the Seattle Art Museum?

Does your online shop product selection change?
Yes, we will be adding new items frequently to our online shop selection – please check back in with us!

Do purchases at SAM Shop benefit the Seattle Art Museum?
Yes, every purchase made at SAM Shop contributes to the museum’s educational programming.


Do purchases as SAM Shop benefit the artists?
Yes, the majority of our handmade goods are purchased directly from the artists.


Are the items on your online shop always in stock?
No. Items that are locally made are, for the most part, handmade goods that take time to prepare. For this reason, limited quantities are available.


Are orders from SAM Shop online linked to my Seattle Art Museum and/or Membership email account?
No, SAM Shop Online operates using a separate database.
