Haida Manga Wave by Canadian artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas

Inspired by Hokusai’s Great Wave, Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas created an original artwork for this t-shirt, a SAM Exclusive. Yahgulanaas is a contemporary artist working in a style he calls Haida Manga, blending North Pacific Indigenous cultural elements with the graphic dynamism of Asian manga. He is from British Columbia and is a member of the Haida Nation.
